August, September and October Favourites

Just because I've been MIA, doesn't mean I haven't been trying out new things and keeping track of things I've been loving for your guys. Here's an accumulation of the last few months favourites.

Aesop cleanser

This is a joy to use, like all Aesop products, this smells absolutely incredible and I'd consider buying the full size product for the scent alone. This is a very gentle cleanser and leaves the skin feeling amazingly soft so ideal for drier skins, but can be used on all skin types. If you're acne prone the high fragrance content could be a trigger for you.

Nivea double effect eye make-up remover

Olive oil, coconut oil, oil/balm cleansers and just about any other oil will all remove waterproof eye make-up and is much cheaper, but this little bottle is handy if you're on the go. It has a normal make-up removing solution at the top and an oily layer at the bottom, you shake the bottle so the solutions mix together. Removes my waterproof mascara well and is small and light enough for travel.

Loreal true match (reformulated)

This was one of the first foundations I ever used, and all these years later Loreal have decided to reformulate the product in a taller, sleeker looking bottle. It feels like the same product to me, perhaps with a little less coverage which I don't mind. It lasts well, Feels comfortable on the skin, and there's a wide range of colours (there's a wider selection online) The only bad point I have to say about this foundation is that it transfers on everything, not a problem really if you're of a lighter skin tone than me, but trust me, its a little awkward when you handle paperwork everyday and leave small brown smudges on them.

Emma Hardie hydrating lighter lotion

This is a brilliant moisturiser, it is, as the name would suggest, a very light weight lotion. Its so light I thought that this product couldn't do anything substantial, but as soon as you've rubbed this in the face is plump and soft. Yet, after a few minutes the product completely sinks in and leaves the skin matte. Its the ideal moisturiser for oily to combination skins (but only if you're combination erring on the side of oily, if you're combination erring on the side of dry then it won't be enough. This is expensive but if you're extremely oily, I would say worth it.

Original source shower gel mango

I'd forgotten just how great Original Source shower gels are, until I randomly picked up this in Boots. This mango one smells so zesty and really helps to wake me up in the mornings. It makes me feel like I need to be on a beach somewhere drinking a mango cocktail.

This works in camera transit

I got interested in this when Victoria Beckham said it was her favourite moisturiser. This claims to be a mask, a moisturiser and a primer. I've used it as a mask and its pretty good. Its a fantastic primer for make-up. Its a little pricey for what it is, and I even though I love it, there are similar moisturisers out there for cheaper.

Maybelline brow satin

This comes with a pencil on one side and a powder on the other. The pencil is a little thick for my liking, and very waxy, meaning it doesn't deposit much colour. However I love the powder. If the pencil were sharper this would be a much better product.

Balance me collagen boost restore and replenish moisturiser

This is a thick lotion that has no discernible scent, the entire range is great for sensitive skin. It says it can be used morning and night but for me, its a little too rich to use in the mornings, even when I go make-up free I'll turn into an oil slick after a while when I use this. Ideal day time moisturiser for dry skins, better as a night cream for combination or oily.

Balance me Super moisturising hand cream

This takes a minute or two to sink in but once it does, well, 'super moisturising' sounds boastful but in this case its accurate. This has a very subtle but pleasant scent, it feels luxurious, it leaves a slight film over the skin (but not in a silicone way, more in a natural essential oils way) and this is why it moisturises the hands so deeply and for so long. If I apply this in the morning I won't need to re-apply for at least 5/6 hours or until I wash my hands. Great for hard working hands.

Higher Living Green Chai tea

I've always loved green tea and all the flavour variations of it, but I'd never tried a Chai green tea before. Its so soothing, warm, it has a subtle spice to it, and I can't stop drinking it, which is a good thing because green tea has so many health benefits.
